Saving souls, one song at a time.

…sometimes all of our thoughts are misleading…

About the author…

A little bit about me…

My name is John, I’m 34, and I’m a union electrician (IBEW Local 164).
I’m a member of an Episcopal Church (former Roman Catholic).
I’m somewhat progressive, and not a religious “literalist.” I believe that everything, including faith, requires the use of reason.

Hope you enjoy the site. It’s WordPress 1.5, using a modified form of Razvan Teodorescu’s “Falling Dreams” theme. The picture in the site header is a view of Newark, New Jersey, and points southwest. It was taken on a rainy day from the roof of the Prudential Building in 2002.

As topics interest me, or when I feel like I have something that I need to express, I will write about it. As, people read my entries, and hopefully respond, there will be a healthy dialogue. Thanks for visiting!

Well, I’ve done a bit of “renovation” to the old internet homestead. :)

I’ve swiched over to the “Journalized” theme by Mike Little. It’s a much more comfortable three column layout, and it fills a browser window in a simple, easy to navigate way. I’m in the process of building my own theme, but in the meantime, this layout will be a solid look for this blog.

I hope folks like it!

I’m also looking at starting up a podcast of my own. I currently co-manage the weekly podcast for my church, and I’ve enjoyed it. Now, I’d like to put something of my own out there for people to listen to.

Well, things have changed a bit since I first got this blog rolling. 2 birthdays… The recent loss of my job has been very humbling. Again, I’m being reminded why my union membership is so important, and the why the benefits are worth every penny we pay into each fund. Gotta love unemployment insurance. I’ve spent the past 20 years paying in, and this is my first time collecting. It’s the most bizarre and surreal thing. I’ve never been out of work before, and I’m not sure I want to get comfortable with it. This is my third week out, and I’m finally getting the hang of things.

In other news… well, there is none. Except that I’m finally going to follow through on my threat to begin writing. I know it will most likely suck, and no one will read, but who cares? It’s all for me, any way.
