The ELCA and deep divisions…
This New York Times article displays the state of the mainline Protestant denominations… Now, the ELCA and the ECUSA have something in common… deeply divided memberships.
The ECUSA put its Anglician Communion affiliation on the line when it consecreated Gene Robinson as a Bishop… The ELCA avoided the problem by voting nearly 50-50 to stall a consideration of allowing homosexual men and women to be ordained as Ministers.
I had hopes that the ELCA would follow the ECUSA into a new generation, but they did not.
